HbbTV – Key Facts:

- Norway adopted to the HbbTV 2.0 standard since January 2017, following NorDig specifications “NorDig Unified Requirements for Integrated Receiver Decoders for use in cable, satellite, terrestrial and IP-based networks”; it is a common platform for Digital Television to be used within the Nordic region (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden) and Éire. NorDig (nordig.com) is a open specification free to use.
- According to dataxis viewers are reached by Cable (40%), Satellite (24%), IPTV (23%) and DTT networks (13%). In addition to Satellite and DTT about 40% of the IPTV households can be reached by HbbTV services.
