The session covers HbbTV tools such as the Test Suite\, Reference App and DASH Validator as well as certification and testing approaches in different countries and practical information about device and apps testing. \nThe presentation is held by Dr Bob Campbell\, Eurofins Digital Testing\, and Nguyen Thi Thanh Van\, Samsung R&D Institute. It is followed by a Q&A session. \nDr Bob Campbell is Director of Engineering at Eurofins Digital Testing. He is responsible for the delivery of products including its CI+ Test Tool\, Ligada HbbTV test harness and HbbTV Test Suites used around the world. Bob is also responsible for Eurofins’ participation in a wide range of standards bodies and is the company’s representative at the HbbTV Association Steering Group\, CTA WAVE\, ATSC and a number of other organisations. Prior to joining Eurofins\, Bob worked in a variety of industries including at IBM and Siemens Rail and holds a PhD from Bristol University. \nNguyen Thi Thanh Van is Head of TV Interactive Middleware Development at Samsung R&D Institute. Van joined Samsung in 2007 and was responsible for cooperation with regulators and standards bodies on digital media regulation and standardization in CEE and Africa until 2014. In her current capacity\, she is leading an Interactive MW development team. Van has been involved with HbbTV Testing Group since 2011\, where she was a Group Vice-Chair from 2013 to 2018 and a Group Chair since 2018. Two years after launch\, LOVEStv is now being used on millions of TV sets in Spain. In this webinar Xavi Redon from Cellnex Telecom will explain how the system works\, how it is managing advertising and data protection\, what the operators have learnt from audience feedback and describe the future plans for the platform regarding companion screens\, operator apps and targeted advertising. Building on the success of Freeview\, James has led the technical development of the Freeview Play platform\, which offers free to view access to DTT broadcast and IP delivered content from all of the UK’s major broadcasters. \nRichard Moreton works in the Business Development and Industrial Affairs team for Samsung R&D Institute where he supports Samsung’s European activities within the digital TV market\, including forming strategic partnerships and defining European Standards for accessibility feature support on Samsung’s TV sets. Richard is also the Co-Chair of the HbbTV Requirements Group. \nSylvain Thevenot joined Netgem in 2015\, creating the London office of Netgem Group\, a leading provider of connected TV products since 1996. He has played a key role in transforming the business model from a set-top box vendor to a service provider. Sylvain launched Netgem TV in the UK\, the ‘super aggregator TV service’ with Freeview Play/HbbTV at the heart\, completed by the most popular OTT services such as Amazon Prime\, YouTube\, Britbox and BT Sport. \nA recording of the 1-hour webinar is available on our YouTube channel. In her role\, Leslie leads a team of lawyers and privacy professionals who are responsible for building and managing Discovery’s global data protection compliance programme and advising the business on the data protection aspects of Discovery’s global operations.
