HbbTV Association to Deliver Keynote at ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium

GENEVA — March 2, 2015 — The HbbTV Association, a global initiative dedicated to providing an open standard for the delivery of broadcast and broadband services through connected TVs and set-top boxes, is pleased to announce the HbbTV Association’s participation at the ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium in Kuala Lumpur from March 2 nd through 6th 2015.

The March 2 nd keynote address will be delivered by Andy Hickman, a member of the HbbTV Association steering group and Digital TV Labs’ CTO. On March 6th Régis Saint Girons, cochair of the HbbTV marketing group and HTTV CEO, will participate on the panel “Integrated Broadband – Broadcast Systems”. He will be joined by Simon Fell, EBU Director of Technology & Innovation. Altogether they will provide insights on new global HbbTV deployments, HbbTV 2.0, best practices on Digital Switch Over, interoperability and business cases.

It is exciting to be invited by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union ABU to provide insights on HbbTV at their Digital Broadcasting Symposium” stated Klaus Illgner, chair, HbbTV Association. “We see increased HbbTV adoption in this region and this is a wonderful opportunity for attendees to learn more about the latest developments and approaches to designing, building, and launching successful HbbTV services.“
