HbbTV Plugfest and Testing Event Berlin 2024 Report
The 15th Deutsche TV-Plattform (DTVP) & Digital Television Group (DTG) Plugfest in cooperation with the HbbTV Association successfully took place from 7th to 9th October 2024 at Fraunhofer FOKUS in Berlin. More than 50 participants from 26 companies, representing smart TV, set-top box and HDMI® equipment manufacturers, have been testing interoperability covering HbbTV applications, DVB-I, UHD-HDR and immersive audio. Following the Plugfest, another HbbTV Testing Event of the HbbTV Testing Group took place at the same venue (9-11 October).
HbbTV test cases covered many topics, like CTA Wave Test Suite tests, live and on-demand DASH Streams, NGA & Multichannel audio, DRM scenarios, FAST Channels, MSE, low latency, playback speed control, and also various DVB-I tests.
Besides the testing, the event was again an excellent opportunity for participants to get in personal contact, also the social event on Tuesday night with beer, wine and “Berliner Currywurst” was well attended.
