HbbTV Symposium 2021 unveils speakers and topics

Geneva, November 16, 2021 – An impressive line-up of international top-level executives and experts will provide first-hand insights into key topics and developments of the connected TV industry at the 9th HbbTV Symposium and Awards on November 24-25, 2021 in Paris, France. The in-person event will be co-hosted by the HbbTV Association and French streaming platform Salto.

The conference agenda features panels and presentations on experiences with HbbTV deployments, the rollout of Targeted Advertising solutions, future specification updates, HbbTV OpApp best practice examples, innovations in HbbTV apps, the role of standardisation and insights from the US market. A special session will focus on conformance regimes and interoperability issues in different European markets.

The HbbTV Symposium 2021 will also host the fourth edition of the HbbTV Awards, showcasing and celebrating excellence in the HbbTV community. The prizes will be awarded at a prestigious ceremony in the evening of November 24.

The event will be organised in full compliance with the French Covid rules that apply at the time of the event. Currently these would include a requirement for everyone participating in person to be able to prove vaccination, recovery from Covid or a negative result from a recent PCR test.
