HbbTV Webinar: HbbTV and SALTO: Insights from the French market

The webinar takes a look at the French TV market, its players, services and conditions, with a focus on developments in the video-on-demand (VOD) and streaming business. In his presentation, Thomas Follin, Managing Director of SALTO, explains how the French streaming platform, operated by France Télévisions, TF1 and M6, uses HbbTV to reach new target groups, grow its business and offer new services.

Presenter:
Thomas Follin is the Managing Director of SALTO, the new French streaming platform founded by the three major French public and commercial broadcasters: France Télévisions, M6 and TF1. SALTO subscribers can enjoy major TV brands, all series episodes in preview, live and replay mode and can also discover new and original productions from around the world.

Thomas was previously Deputy Managing Director and Member of the Executive Committee of Groupe M6 where he was in charge of 6play, the digital app of Groupe M6, and the distribution of all channels and audio-visual services of the group. Thomas has notably developed the group’s channels and services revenues on all networks and platforms as well as driving digital innovation.

Thomas started at Groupe M6 in 2002 in the Strategy & Development team. He joined M6 WEB in 2008 to launch M6 Replay, the first replay service in France. Thomas holds a DESS / MASTER 2 in Telcos and New Media from Université Paris Dauphine.
